Meet Jonny                                      

Jonny is 20.  He is from Newcastle, England.  Jonny attends Northumbrie University and is in the Sports Science and Coaching program.  He has a 5 year old brother who also plays soccer.  What does he like to do when he is not playing soccer?  He likes to spend time with friends, watch TV and go to the gym.  He is having a good time coaching summer camp.

Meet Mark...

Mark is 18.  Mark is from Liverpool, England.  Mark just graduated from high school in Liverpool, England.  He is not going to college yet.  Mark has been playing soccer for 14 years.  Who got Mark interested in soccer?  Mark's Dad played with him and taught him.  Who was his favorite coach"  Coach Eddy Carney.  Coach Carney was Mark's coach when he was 7 years old.  He will never forget him.  What does he like to do when he is not playing soccer?  Play snooker (pool) and play cards.  He has a younger brother who is 14.  What is Mark's advice to the campers?  Play with a smile on your face and enjoy soccer.

Meet Rachel...

Rachel is 19.  She is from Lincoln England.  She attends Lincoln University where she is studying Sport Development and Coaching.  She found out about UK International Camps by seeing a poster it the university.  She has been here 9 weeks.  She would like to work summer camps in the US again.  What does she do when she is not playing soccer?  Rachel is a member of Lincoln University's field hockey team.  She is planning to join the East Midland Region teams in the fall.  Who got Rachel interested in soccer?  Rachel's Great Granddad played semi=pro soccer.  Are any other members of her family athletes?  No, her sister and mother are both talented musicians that play the flute and sing beautifully.  Her advise to the campers, Keep trying.

Meet Steve...                                                                                         

Steve is 19.  Steve is from Scotland.  He attends Kilmarnock College of Sporting Excellence.  In High School he had good grades and was captain of his soccer team which caught the attention of Kilmarnock. At Kilmarnock a UK International lecturer came and advised him to try out soccer camp coaching in the US.  He has been here 4 weeks and definitely would like to do it again.  Who got him started in soccer?  His father gave him a ball before he could walk.  At home he plays for Prestwick Club Soccer but may be changing teams this fall.  He is trying out for semi-pro when he returns home.   He is going home August 20th.  What does he like to do when he's not playing soccer?  Coaching, socializing with friends , watching TV, Basketball, golf, badminton, volleyball.  His advise to the campers, Enjoy the game and remember there is no "I" in T-E-A-M.

Meet David...

David is 20.  David is from Ayrshire Preswick, Scotland.  David attends Kilmarnock College in the Sports Coaching and Sports Development program.  David found out about UK International Soccer Camps by another student who did it and liked it.  this is his first year with UK International.  He has been here 4 weeks.  David is a semi-pro player who expects to sign a contract with a team this fall but is still going to finish school.  Who got David interested in soccer?  His Dad played and so did his cousin.  His Dad got him started in soccer when he was 5 years old.  What does he like to do when he is not playing soccer?  David likes to golf and go to the gym.  What is David's advice for the campers?  Stay with it, keep fit.

Meet Liz...

Elizabeth "Liz" is 26.  Liz is from Leicester, England.  Liz has been working full time with UK International Soccer for three years.  She finished college in the field of Leisure and Sport Management.  Who got Liz interested in soccer?  Her older brother Chris.  She started when she was 4 or 5 years old.  Liz has two brothers.  What does she like to do when she is not playing soccer?  Liz likes to swim in the pool and run.  She enjoys good food.  Liz's favorite band, though she likes all kinds of music, is All American Rejects.  Liz prefers American French Fries to England's chips (fries) and loves to eat them with ketchup.

Meet Luke...

Luke is 24.  Luke is from North Devon.  Luke has been playing since he was 4 years old.  Luke's Granddad played professional soccer for the Donester Rovers.  Luke attends the College of St. Mark and St. John. Luke is studying Applied Sports Science and Coaching.  Luke is also a member of his college's water polo team. What does he like to do when he is not playing soccer or water polo?  Luke likes to golf.  How long has he been with UK International Camps?  Three years.  His first year he coached travel soccer teams in Chicago in additional to working camps.  At home he works for Community and Youth Club with Plymouth argyle and he is the assistant coach for St. Mark and St. John's Soccer team.  His advice for the campers:  Practice makes permanent before it makes perfect.  Luke wants them to always have a dream they are aspiring to reach.  What's Luke's dream?  To coach a collegiate team to a level of distinguish among colleagues.  To have a family someday that is proud of what he does.
